How to get it right

Nobody gets it right the first time. That’s not failure, it’s the process.

Skills worth having are all built the same way. Slow. With repetition. The willingness to look at your own work and ask if it is good or just done.

Determination isn’t doing the same thing harder. Determination is staying in the work long enough to ask uncomfortable questions, to change something even when you thought you were finished.

A carpenter doesn’t build a perfect cabinet on the first try. A chef doesn’t plate the perfect dish on the first night. Writers don’t hit the bestseller list with their first draft. Professionals don’t get promoted after their first project.

Getting it right is not a moment. It’s a direction.
