Our work

Real people. Real results. Written by Sunrise.

Every resumé, cover letter and LinkedIn profile we write is built around a specific person with a specific goal. Here is what happens when we get it right.

Job seeker

From six months of silence to three interviews in two weeks.

Operations coordinator, Calgary. Had been applying consistently for six months with no response. Came to Sunrise with a resumé that listed duties rather than outcomes and had not been updated since 2019.

I had sent out probably forty applications and heard nothing. Within two weeks of getting my new resumé I had three interview requests. I genuinely could not believe the difference.

Sarah M. — Operations Coordinator
What changed

The resumé was rebuilt around quantified outcomes rather than task lists. ATS formatting was corrected to ensure the document was being parsed correctly. A targeted summary was written to align directly with operations roles in her target industry.

Career changer

Ten years in oil and gas. Pivoting into project management consulting.

Senior field supervisor, Edmonton. Spent a decade in upstream oil and gas and wanted to transition into independent project management consulting. His existing resumé read as highly technical and industry-specific with no transferable narrative.

My old resumé made me look like I only knew one industry. Sunrise reframed my entire career in a way that made sense to people outside oil and gas. I landed my first consulting contract within a month.

David R. — Project Management Consultant
What changed

The resumé was restructured to lead with transferable skills — budget management, contractor oversight, cross-functional coordination — rather than technical field competencies. Industry jargon was replaced with language that resonated with consulting clients and procurement teams.

Executive

A VP-level resumé that finally matched the calibre of the roles she was pursuing.

VP of Finance, Vancouver. Had been in her current role for four years and was quietly exploring board and C-suite opportunities. Her resumé was outdated and written at a mid-management level that undersold her actual scope of responsibility.

I knew my resumé was not doing me justice but I did not know how to fix it without it feeling like bragging. Sunrise found the balance. It reads like a serious executive document now.

Karen T. — VP Finance
What changed

The document was restructured around strategic impact — P&L ownership, organizational transformation and board-level reporting — rather than functional responsibilities. An executive summary was written to position her for CFO and board director conversations specifically.

New graduate

No full-time experience. A resumé that still got him noticed.

Commerce graduate, University of Calgary. Graduating into a competitive market with part-time work, a co-op placement and several campus leadership roles. His original resumé buried the most relevant experience and led with GPA.

I thought I just did not have enough experience to stand out. Sunrise showed me I had more than I realized — I just was not presenting it right. I had two offers before convocation.

James K. — Business Analyst
What changed

The resumé was restructured to lead with his co-op experience and campus leadership, framed in the language of entry-level business analyst roles. Accomplishments from his part-time work were rewritten to demonstrate initiative and commercial awareness rather than task completion.

Organization

Supporting thirty-two employees through a restructure with dignity.

Mid-size energy services company, Calgary. Going through a significant workforce reduction and wanted to provide meaningful outplacement support beyond a standard severance package. Engaged Sunrise to provide resumé writing for all affected employees.

We wanted to do right by our people. Sunrise made that easy. Every employee got a professional, personalized resumé and the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. It mattered to them.

L. Morrison — HR Director
What changed

Sunrise coordinated directly with each of the thirty-two employees to gather background and target role information. Every resumé was written individually — no templates, no batch processing. The engagement was completed within three weeks of the initial brief.

What our clients say

The turnaround was fast and the quality was exactly what I needed. My LinkedIn has had more profile views in the past month than the entire previous year.

M. Chen — Marketing Manager

I was skeptical that a rewritten resumé would make a real difference. I was wrong. The cover letter alone opened doors I had been knocking on for months.

T. Okafor — Civil Engineer

Sunrise understood my industry immediately. The resumé they wrote felt like me — just a much more polished, confident version of me.

A. Patel — Healthcare Administrator

Sample 02 — Professional summary Career changer
