AI elevates status.

It finds words when you’re stuck. It brings shape and structure to thoughts and ideas when the vision isn’t clear yet. It gets things done before the window closes.

It is true that AI provides a genuine edge. But there is a hard limit.

AI can frame your thinking. It cannot manufacture it.

Irresponsible use of AI isn’t just an ethical problem, it’s a strategic one. Every shortcut taken with AI creates a gap that a single direct question can expose. The more inflated the resumé, the wider that gap, and the harder the fall.

Status built on a false foundation doesn’t hold up. Hiring processes are all about verification. They are designed specifically to test whether what’s on paper exists in the person.

The people winning with AI aren’t using it to fake capability. They’re using it to express the capability and experience they already have, to work faster and more clearly than before. In other words, they are using AI as a tool, not a credential factory. Use it to amplify what’s real, not create fiction.

Remember, with AI the elevation is real. The shortcut is an illusion.
